Madeline Allen

Hi there and welcome.

For close to 20 years, I’ve been privileged to work with people during some of the most challenging periods of their life, including substance addiction, family breakdowns, homelessness and trauma. This experience has helped me learn the importance of compassion, non-judgement and understanding. Which I aim to bring into my counselling practice.

I’m committed to making accessing counselling comfortable, practical and easy to understand (no fluff!). I strongly welcome those who find it difficult to reach out for support, feel shame, misunderstood by others or have trouble talking about their challenges.

I work from the basis that you are the expert in your own life, providing support to help you find what works best for you to cope better.

I utilise a range of counselling methods depending on the person and presenting issues, although often include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Narrative approaches and nervous system regulation.

My areas of special interest include anxiety, grief and loss, men’s mental health and substance use.
